Strategic Planning

Sample Project Summaries

  • Congregation of Women Religious in Central Ohio. KEB was the strategic planning consultant for a large group of women religious in central Ohio. We worked with Congregation Leadership to structure a “preferred future” process and committee, which included the President and two other members of the leadership team. Included was an assessment of future viability using a framework adapted from LCWR’s “A Critical Juncture” assessment tools. The process also included a strong consensus building component and an implementation workshop for the many sisters involved in implementation.

  • Congregation of Women Religious in Missouri. KEB was the strategic planning consultant for a large order of women religious who decided to develop a “preferred futures” plan. This customized strategic planning process assimilated the views of 500+ members into a shared vision of future membership, ministry and spirituality. The strategic planning effort was led by an ad hoc committee comprised of eight sisters, including the Province Director.

  • Congregation of Women Religious in Southeastern Kansas. KEB was the strategic planning consultant for a large order of women religious located primarily in Kansas and the southwest. Developed by an ad hoc committee led by KEB, this plan identified the strategic issues faced by the congregation (i.e., those issues that if not addressed threaten survival), and a plan for addressing them. Included among the major initiatives launched as a result of the strategic plan was a ministry grants program to expand the presence of the congregation in those areas identified to them as being of strategic importance.
