James C. Curran

Qualifications

James specializes in tax matters of closely held businesses, professional service providers and high net worth individuals. He also researches and makes recommendations for corporate returns (S and C corporations as well as LLC’s) and their effects on individuals. He has handled a wide variety of specialized tax matters, including trusts and estates, divorce litigation, Section 1031 exchanges and IRS audits.

His industry specializations are investment holding companies, real estate and development, property managers, professional practices and non-profit organizations.

James joined firm as Staff Accountant - Tax in 1999. He was promoted to In-charge Tax Accountant in 2001 and Manager - Tax Services in 2005. He earned his CPA in Missouri.

Education

  • Truman State University, Bachelor of Science in Accounting, 1999
  • Continuing professional education, approximately 50 hours each year in business, nonprofit and individual tax topics as well as investment advisory services.
