Helping teams keep up with new professional standards and maintain quality across their work is a big responsibility. For Katy Long, KEB’s Director of Quality Control, it’s an important part of her role supporting colleagues throughout the firm.

Since joining KEB in January 2024, Katy has taken on a range of firmwide responsibilities. She leads the internal inspection process and annual quality management review, contributes to training, and helps teams implement new standards. Her work connects technical requirements with the guidance our professionals need in their daily work.

Katy completed her undergraduate studies at Illinois College before earning her Master of Accountancy from Illinois State University.

Most mornings, you’ll find Katy outside for an early walk before the workday begins. Fresh air and a few steps are a simple part of her routine that always makes the day better.

What was your first job?
“I started lifeguarding at 14! Had to work every single shift that my older sister did so she could drive me.”

What skill would you like to learn or improve?
“I’d love to improve my golf and pickleball skills. My 11-year-old beats me every time.”
